Max is a visual programming language for music and multimedia developed by Cycling74. Actually found in over 1500 institutions and companies worldwide, this powerful tool allows you to easily create your own resources for music composition, audiovisual live performances, sound analysis, audio plugins and much more.

I have been working with Max for several years and collaborating in sound installation, audiovisual performances as well as developing audio plugins for companies and doing workshops.

What should I know beforehand?
Who are these lessons for?
Max is commonly used by composers, performers, sound engineers, sound designers and audiovisual artists but not restricted to them. If you are not sure if Max is what you are looking for, feel free to contact me. We can have a free lesson to give you an idea of what is Max capable of.
What do I need to get started?
In order to begin you just need a computer with a working internet connection and speakers or headphones. An audio interface is recommended for better audio quality, but not mandatory. Regarding software, you can get Max for free for a trial period, purchase it or rent it for only $9.99 per month. Be sure to also check out if you are eligible for academic discounts.
How much do you charge per class?
It depends. Price will vary depending on number of students, online or face-to-face class, etc. If you know which method is more convenient for you, feel free to contact me through the contact section.
How long is each lesson?
60 minutes. Depending on the topic that is being covered they can be a bit longer though.
What payment methods are you accepting?
Cash and transfer (Spain). Paypal (other countries).
Can I try a free lesson?
Yes. You are more than welcome to take a free lessons before committing to regular lessons. We can do a sample class or even talk about your interests.
Do you teach in other languages?
Yes. I can teach in both English and Spanish (my mother tongue).
What do you teach (MSP, Jitter, Gen, M4L, etc)?
Can I learn how to use Arduino with Max?
Yes. We can check several methods for working with Arduino or any other external device that you might need to communicate with Max.
How did you learn Max?
I have been programming since I was 14. During my undergrad I had a couple of years of Max classes and then I got involved in projects where I had to work with Max all the time. Afterwards I heavily relied on it for my Master’s thesis at Berklee College of Music. I currently work with Max and I love it!
